At The Tot Spot building relationships is paramount to laying solid foundations as a basis for learning. We place huge value on our connections with families, aiming for children to build strong
loving attachments that are both respectful and unhurried.
Relationships are a vital part of our centre, we offer parents/whanau the opportunity to play an active part in their child’s learning and this is made visible through the trusting relationships
we have developed with our children, families/whanau.
Te Whāriki is used as the foundation framework for our learning environment, which emphasises the learning partnership between teachers, parents and whanau. We have a positive, caring and exciting
environment, where teachers work alongside children to develop their exploration, creative, imaginative and linguistic skills. Teachers create a holistic curriculum in response to children's learning
and development, encouraging dispositions such as problem solving, determination, empathy, independence, confidence and resilience. Our goal in each room is for an environment of open communication
where parents, family and caregivers feel comfortable discussing their child's achievements and concerns with the staff.
